FYI I just received an order for a K2 PLL kit that I placed in February. So
things are moving! :-)

Brian,
I believe I can speak with authority having repaired over 1000 K2s in
the last 15 years.
The one item that fails frequently in the K2 is the headphone jack, so I
would advise having a spare on hand.
Maybe a set of K2 PA transistors (for the base K2, not the KPA100). If

I saw a message on 'another list' the other day which was a reply to someone
who was thinking about getting a K2 kit while they could. The reply said...

means potentiometers...
Anyhow, I'd not seen or heard much about

Hi All,
I have the following K2 bits for sale. I bought these as part of a built K2,
but am upgrading to 100w and won't be needing these.

Hi all,
Ok, I've called the parts inventory good, except two parts for the RF board
that I couldn't quite figure out and made a guess that they were right. But
not sure:
C33 - this part is listed as a 2.2pf cap which should have a label 2R2 or
2 according to the parts list. I could only find a
LS,
Small capacitors are marked in several ways it may have the actual value
expressed as a decimal, such as 2.2 or there may be an R in place of
the decimal point, such as 2R2. It is all the same. How they are
marked depends on the manufacturer, and is subject to change from time
to time.
Ok, thanks Don and everyone who's responded.
Even tho it's taken two days to do the inventory, it's been a highly
educational 2 days which I consider an integral part of the whole
educational experience I'm intending to have doing the kit. That's probably
reason #1 I've decided to do the
I just finished an inventory of my K2 and I have a couple of quick questions.
1) For several of my SIP resistor packs, my part has an extra C in the
number. For example the manual will give the number as 770103471 and my part
is 103C471. Am I correct in assuming that these are the same?
2)
Paul,
Parts manufacturers often put extra numbers in the designation, some are
meaningful for the package configuration, but others are for some coding
used by the manufacturer. Just go by the last 3 digits - that is the
value code, 471 would be 47 followed by 1 zero, or 470 ohms.

I am liquidating my surplus stock of Elecraft K2 parts. Included are:
1 - Power Switch
4 - Latching Relays
4 - Control Knobs
7 - Key Caps (6 rectangle, 1 square)
8 - Cabinet 2D Fasteners (connects cabinet panels together)
25 - Matched Filter Crystals (marked 3.7)
2 - Front Panel Push Button
Hi All,
I'm doing parts inventory on my new revion G basic K2. I've counted all the
parts in RFb bag but I am left with what appears to be a mono cap, blue in
color, marked 2.7 c on one side and 1A on the other. My meter says it's
2.7pf, but I don't find a 2.7pf cap in the list. Would this be a
on the KPA100 now. Perhaps will make some noise early next week on
40m and 80m.
Have fun!

Hello to the group.
This is my first post. I'm assembling a K2 serial
number 6327. All is well and I'm working on section 3
of the RF board. I have a question about Q6. The
parts list as a number of C2166 but mine is a C5739P.
Is this a direct replacement or do I have the wrong
part.

Mike,
Go ahead and use the 2SC5739 at Q6. This is a replacement for the 2SC2166.
The changes to RoHS compliant devices can be blamed for the confusion.

Thanks to all that responded. I'll use the part. Don

same trouble here at work. Also thru' parts are

RFCs have the tolerance band *after* the three bands for the value whereas RFC6

In my sealed package of parts for the RF probe there is a component
