The bandwidth appears to be limited when using 10 hz and it is painfully
slow when the bandwidth is fairly wide.
When I am in PSK or RTTY and using search and pounce, I use wide bandwidth
in HRD and DM780 to find the signal I want on the screen and then narrow it
in so it is better for me to ha
button to it .

If you're inclined to use a rig control program, DXLab's Commander now has
very nice slider controls for adjusting the K3's bandwidth and
I guess that's my problem... Wide CW to me is greater than 1 KHz BW,
which I often use. A weak signal in these wide passbands can be
improved alot by shifting the passband. But a 0.01 step, assuming it
even covered the entire range, would be pretty tedious for such wide
BW. So, yeah... I use both .
Waited for the .01 shift for CW. When it came out I changed to the .01
shift and have *never* changed it back.
.05 feels, sounds klunky on CW and does not allow me to play games with the
skirts when a strong station is up or down and bothering me. I use the
"400" and "250" 8 pole roofing filters
Wayne,
I guess I like using both of the SHIFT steps for CW: .01 for narrow
filters and .05 for wide of course. Seems like a natural to me, as
well as assigning SHIFT to a function switch for quick access. I'm
surprised many CW ops would not do this. Only, the reset to 400 Hz BW
every time...

Drew,
I never imagined anyone would switch back and forth between .01 and .
05 kHz SHIFT steps when I added this feature. Our customers who had
lobbied for .01 kHz tried this setting, then (presumably) kept it that
way.
The passband has to be normalized after changing this setting in order
Is there a reason why Config PB CTRL SHIFT forces BW to 400 Hz? It is
annoying having to restore the BW setting from 400 Hz every time you
change the PB shift step size, especially if you jump back and forth
alot between the two step sizes.
