All,
I assisting a friend get setup using the K3 mini. RemoteRig RR-1258 and
have a question. I want to make changes to the microphone setup on K3 mini
and move the active mic input from Rear Panel to the Front Panel. On a
regular K3 i'd tap MENU and use MIC SEL to choose FPL. My question is
Fred,
Go into the RRC's web menus and click on "keyer settings", then go to
"side tone" and adjust the db down to an acceptable level.

Hi Fred,
Change your RRC Control setting under Keyer settings
Side tone -db [50-0]:
Set it to more reasonable value, 0 is the loudest, value is in "- db" :-)
Set it to 45 or 50 and you must see the difference
Hope it helps

In preparation for a trip I have the Remoterig boxes and a K3/0 Mini and K3
working fine. Problem is the sidetone is way too loud. The K3's monitor level
is 0 and the sidetone configuration in the control Remoterig is also 0 dB.
Anybody have any ideas?
Cheers,

Ancillary question... Has anybody figured out how to use, at the local end,
sound card digital modes? I want to run MixW or other sound card programs, and
have Olivia or MFSK on USB coming out at the controlled (remote) K3 end. Can
it be done? What is the cabling and interface required?
Tnx
I am looking at the K3-Remote / RemoteRig system. A few questions:
(1) I recall hearing something about a K3/0 with a smaller case. Was this
just a prototype or is it headed for production? The current K3/0 case must be
mostly empty.
(2) How much work is it to switch the remote (base) K3

1-The K3/0 mini production date has not been announced yet. But hope it
isn't too far out.
2-There are several cables that have to be switched for the change over. I
need to get the plans for a relay box out of my head and down on paper and
built so that I can do it with software and remotely.
Eric -
While no one is looking, is it possible to mount the RemoteRig module inside
of the K3/0? 73, Terry K4RX

It *would* be very neat if Remoterig could support K3 on the server side and
have it controlled by a KX3 on the client side as the remote frontpanel
Owning both K3 and KX3 would become even more interesting.

Hi, Eric:
This is welcome news indeed, thanks.
Can you say in advance whether the Remoterig twinning (no computer
required at client or host site) concept will be supported wrt the K3,
please?

Hi Jorge,
Yes - The K3/Remoterig combination is being tested both here and at
Remoterig right now. They should be announcing official K3 support very
soon.

Yes.
The next release of K3 firmware will allow you to connect two K3s
together, with one acting as a terminal only, the other as

Hello Wayne,
Good news!
Will it be possible to split TX and RX functionality between the homeK3
(TX) and the remote K3 (RX) in a setup where the RX controls on the home
K3 are used as the frontpanel for the remote K3 ?
Just want to use my second K3 for remote listening.
