Just my opinion guys... Most radios have an electronic keyer built
in . My K3 does I use it. So it's straight key [ UGH] or electronic
key. If you want to send the letter A. It's DIT DAH. With a keyer it's
tap one side then the other. The keyer sends DIT with the proper spacing

To each his own, whatever you enjoy. But for a different perspective, I
certainly enjoy being able to have a longer QSO and “chat” and do more than
just the quickie 599/QTH/73 type of contact. Running 20 wpm lets me do that a
lot more readily than running at 10 wpm. 35 wpm is even better

Good advice. You may be amused to hear MY version of reading some

I recall recently there was a discussion here (hope it was here and not on
QRP-L) about learning cw. There were 2 people put forth as guru's on the
topic.
One was Ron Stark, KU7Y, who's CD's are available on QRP ARCI in The Toy
Store.
But I can't recall for the life of me who the other

Dave,
I think you're thinking of Chuck Adams K7QO. His course is available

Congratulations, Martin!
I like to tell people, and there's *some* truth to the story, that the
reason that I've worked 99.9% CW for 50+ years now is that I put so much
time and energy into learning the code I wanted to get my money's worth out
of it!

Martin,
Keep up the great work. Please write an article about learning CW too and get
it circulated around. You can be an inspiration
After 40 years of CW as a ham, I find that sometimes I can have a QSO, read QST
or Watch TV at the same time. It just takes practice.

Hello Martin,
Sincere congratulations, fantastic!!!. Many thanks for the inspiration and
kick-start as well. The local CW has drifted from reasonable down to
pathetic due to a long absence.
Nice to see you again.

I learned to read English over 60 years ago. I learned Morse over 53 years ago.
I would still recommend to those wanting to learn English to first learn the
alphabet before they attempt to go learning entire words. Now for Morse . . .
. learn it anyway you can if your are inclined . . . I
