I haven’t tested it, but I recall that the delay is shortened if you use QRQ
mode. With the K3S synthesizer, you really don’t need QRQ mode for reasonable
hand sending speeds, so turn it off in the menu.

I received a report of what seemed to be hot switching artifacts when
running QSK with my SPE 2K amp. The K3S was set for the default TX Delay
but the friend who reported the issue later found an email from Wayne
indicating there was some issue with the default TX Delay of 8ms actually
being more
What’s the lowest it can go? The KPA500 switches incredibly fast since there
are no relays to switch. It is a true QSK amplifier.
Try it at the standard setting for the IC-7610 and see if there are any issues.
I bet there won’t be.

As a new KPA500 owner, any suggestions for the proper TX delay setting on my
IC-7610?

Would the TX DELAY setting at 016mS cause a FAULT condition(s) to occur? I
have had mine set at 16 and I just noticed this, and had many FAULT occur. I
have reset it to 008mS, and am checking it now for any further FAULTs as I
had before. Any thoughts?
