That's a low-spec sort of the 666 production. Would have been a great
ham mic. Variable-D, so almost no bass boost.

MY first phone radio (1960) was a WWII surplus ARC-1 that a ham friend
modified to 144-MHz for AM. Ran 20w with 820's. The hand mic was
certainly a carbon mic.
