I believe Eric shut down the "country bashing" thread.
Over the decade I've been on the Elecraft list we've had many discussions of
how Elecraft products compare to others (or vice versa).

I thought this thread was closed yesterday??
Why not post your review on QRZ or one of the other appropriate sites that
publish reviews of ham equipment?

So why not write a letter to the editor of QST making this point?

Guys,
Let's end this thread now.
Country bashing etc. is way outside of the list guidelines.

and competency of the company that made it, the quality and reliability

Tnx for the suggestion Joe: The KX1 needs something closer to a 1-amp
supply. It's rated at 800 mA depending upon supply voltage and power.
I have some old 12V transformer type wall warts around here too, but aren't

No, not an option. You have to buy two of them: 40/20 plus 40/30 to get
40/30/20 And no fun of building your own rig!

It sure does, but note it's two bands instead of 4, no built-in ATU, no
variable bandwidth I.F. filter (and, shoot, not even a built in light to
read notes by in the field ;-)
Just proves that all pretty faces aren't the same.

Hi Chuck,
This was recently reviewed by QST. Since I'm totally biased, I'll
recuse myself from the discussion, but suffice to say there are major
differences between this rig and a KX1 :)
