All calendars that have been order are mailed as of 29 Dec. 2004. Thank you
to all that have placed an order for the calendar. If you plan on waiting to
order one, your time is running
Although the 1k resistor mod seems to work there is a noticeable drop in
received signals.
Modeling the KPA100 T/R switching showed this additional loss.
As a temporary measure until the official Elecraft modification comes out
I have replaced RFC3 (100uH) with a 1mH RFC.

I have completed #4554, which consists of the K-2, noise blanker, DSP2
unit, 160 meter, 60 meter and SSB modules.
I bought a used Bird wattmeter through Ebay, which was finally delivered
yesterday. Last night I went thoroughly through all of the alignment
and test procedures. I did not have

QSK just as good or better than Ten Tec. K2 is a cw ops dream.

Hello all- I think the K2 looks like great rig. But, how quick is QSK? Can
you hear the receiver between dits on the cw transmit when using QSK? I like

Hi Rich:
I wish I could agree with Tim here, but I'm afraid I can't.
Personal opinion of N0SS follows... read it for what little it's worth...!
The QSK in the K2 is decent, but not as good as most TenTecs or even my
venerable old TS-930S.
I can readily copy signals between words up to about
I notice the lack of familiarity with military time and Zulu time keeping
among our ARES members, and new hams during simulated emergency tests, or
public service events where any messaging is done. It is widespread since
the recission of the requirement to keep a log, I am afraid.

If you get strange readings after reversing the leads try reading the
resistance on pin 21 (8R) and pin 23 (8T) of P2 Look at Appendix B Control
Board. even the best of us occasionally mistake the pin out on
transistors.

Chuck,
Try reversing your DMM probes - it is possible that no
Low and High on SSB is also in the perception of the listener. If you think
they are on a specific freq. and tune using that then you may be off. I
listen to nets where the net control can be off 50-70 Hz and I tune
accordingly. Some lids think they are right on all the time... :-)
