My K3 is getting closer to ship time. I plan on stretching out the assembly
time over two days. I believe anomolies experienced by some are from small
assembly errors like washers and the like, or touching an RF sensitive
component during assembly.
Based on my own personal experience, I would recommend a linear supply. I
use the Astron RS-35A. Yes, it is as big as the K3, but it is rock solid,
well-filtered, and RFI-free, and has over-voltage and over-current
protection. In addition, the Astron has heavy-duty output terminals that

I checked the diodes and D12 and D14 in the switching circuit tested bad
along with D10 in the 12V line. However when I took them out they all
tested OK. I replaced them with new and now D12 and D14 tst OK in circuit
but D10 still shows bad but is OK once taken out of circuit.

corrected that problem years ago. I personally use the Samlex SEC 1235M

Nope, I have not. My operating (near zero right now due to life
getting in the way) is 99.9% CW, old school, with manual keys. I'm not
pushing the envelop so I'm not trying new novel things. These days, I
pretty much just use my rig rather than playing testing with it.

have the switchover occur at a bandwidth that more closely matches the
filter you actually have. What I've done is tell the K3 that my 250 Hz

Something strange (?) is happening with my T1 and a Yaesu FT817 using the
cable. I tune a band, work it, then go to another one.
If I return to the previous band, the yellow light is flashing instead of the
green one, as it is supposed to do. Sometime, the green light flashes
I am a cw guy and use the standard 2.7 kHz 5-pole filter and the 400 Hz
8-pole filter. I find them to be an excellent combination.
