The accuracy and features of KX2 and KX3 RTCs are not good. What you report is likely better than typical. This is in spite of the use of a full-featured clock/calendar RTC chip. I have never figured out how a $10 Casio watch will often gain or lose less than two seconds per month, yet

Cornell Labs puts out a really nice iPhone app called Merlin which includes regional databases, a search ladder to narrow down what you are trying to identify, photos and audio recordings and a brief description. We use it on hikes all the time to ID and try to call the birds we see. Great fun.

Paul, I've been on the interest list for one of the other options. I emailed Elecraft Support recently asking about status. I got a response a couple of day ago that they are finalizing pricing with their vendor. When that's complete, they will email those on the interest list with information
