Good Evening,
Both twenty and forty meters had noise with moderate QSB. WES
contesters were active on twenty meters so I moved down 1 kHz. I was S3
to S5 to those who found me. On forty meters there were few other
signals when I chose a frequency. Similar to last week, propagation

After the K3 has been on a while all signals and noise disappear.

Did the K144XV’s ever ship? I had ordered one and never heard anything.

Phase noise, both in the transmitted signal and that added to it the RX,
is mostly what makes a mess of two stations on the same band. Spurs,
Last FD we ran 4 FTDX10s. No interstation interference with them being 8
feet from each other in a straight line. All antennas were within 100 feet
of each other. 2 cw stations and 2 phone stations had no problems. We did
not run CW and Phone on the same band at the same time, but had no problems

It might be very helpful for dissatisfied customers to list the method they
used to communicate with Elecraft and the website info or whatever (phone
number? Elecraft does answer their phones) they used to contact Elecraft.
There are those here that are satisfied with Elecrafts response and
I've got a KX3 and an IC-7300.
The 7300 uses a moderately clacky relay for T/R switching but something
silent (to my ears) for sending CW while the relay is in the T position.
If you expect the basically instant and completely silent QSK of the KX3,
you'll be disappointed.
If you don't mind
One of the most important characteristics of a radio for FD is its
ability to play well with others. I have heard that the IC7300 does not.
The low cost Kenwood radios have, in general, been second best to the K3
and KX3 in that regard. Deficiencies of the Icom and Yaesu rigs are lots

Welcome to the list John and don’t be put off by a few complaints. I’ve been a
customer since 1999 when I got my K2. I’ve never had any communication issues
with Elecraft-every time I contact them about parts or technical issues they
respond very promptly which is incredibly impressive given
