I am using a Power Bank model MP-16000 Lithium Polymer battery to run
the KX3. This appears to now be furnished by Maxtron as the MX160A
power bank at $128 on Amazon. It is lightweight (1.1 lbs) and is about
the size of a paperback book.
Last night I ran the KX3 with backlight on for 3.5
Is anyone else experiencing leakage from the VFO via the antenna?
I had my FT-2000 on and could hear the KX3 VFO as I tuned near the KX3
operating frequency on the FT-2000. They were on separate antennas
about 40 feet apart. Varying the KX3 tuning knob varied the signal on
the FT-2000.

The comment about the BC342 brought back memories of my actual setup in
1968 right after I got my first license. I built the 6L6 transmitter
myself, so can definitely relate. Now I have the KX3, and am seriously
considering the amp for it to use in the fifth-wheel. This would make

Has anyone else noticed the dramatic increase in atmospheric noise
lately? On 20M, 30M, and 40M especially, I see a wide-band noise source

Sorry, I misunderstood what AUTO meant.
A better label would be ATU ON or ATU INLINE.
AUTO implies that it will automatically do the tuning.
Semantics :-)

If so, how do you set the SWR at which it begins the tuning process.
I only have it in BYP when using the vertical antenna with the LDG RT100
remote tuner.

Is there a programming command to set the KX3 power to less than one watt?
PC001; seems to be the lowest level you can get, according to the
programming guide.
The NAQCC sprints often use power levels that must be less than one
watt, which means a manual setting on the front panel.
