What is the most accurate clock in world? An Amotic clock? No, one
that has stopped running. It is corect twice each day.
I am glad my K3 sounds good and has a clock accurate enough for every
day use.
Some times I think tinkering with the K3 has become a hobby of it's own.
It is real fun just

too noisy.
All should be evident from the schematic when and if it becomes
available.

1. Hooking up a three wire to stereo 1/4 Inc. plugs. Making sure the
wiring is correct.
2. It is pluged to electric key plug, in the back.
3. In the menu you have it sent to electric key.
4. Check weighting and speed.

Bad power supplies, check for hum from them. Ground radio and/or power
supplies. The A/C hum has to come from the wall supply.

diods in the ant 1/2, for muting during transmistion. In lower
fequancies, the pin diods attenuant signal. There one would want the

Just had a brain storm. To off set the price of a K3/10. No amp., but
include all the boards to make it a general reciever. Also include the
6Kz 8 pole in place of the 2.7Kz 5 pole. The K3/10 is more Hams then
SWL.

I have a Buddipole. I set it up correctly for 20 m. When I tuned up my K3 I got
about 1.1/1.2 SWR. I would imagine it tunes at about 5-10 watts. If I transmit
at 1-10 watts it seems to run fine. At 100 watts the K3 shuts itself of at the
second CQ I send. I am on SSB. If

Puting the K3 together is the only way to go. As stated in previous
emails, when a mod comes up, you already have a good idea on how to do
it. For example I put in the new DSP board. I did have the assembly
book infront of me. Short of losing a few parts and cracking a knob.

The DSP does the rest. Just run the K3 with the 2.8 and figure out
want you want.

I am in need to the answer to this question myself. Not for my K3, but
for my stereo Amp.. No hum, loss of singal. In this case it is hooked
up to a preamp out. If the other amp is not on it cuts the volume.
Must have something to do with line loading.

The sound quialty is great. The two modes I have tested are SSB and
AM. The range has more dynamics to it. Even with heavey narrowing the
sound detail is all there. My roofing filters are: 13,6,2.8,2.1 and
500. All, even 500 are eight pole. I did change my filter config. . I
only use the
Speakers for ham radio should cut off at about 100Hz.. Leave the
HiFi, for music. Music that is from a high quality source.
I am sure there are many good choices out there. The one I use
fits the size of my K3. It is Vertex mobile speaker, made by Yeasu. It

I did this mod for the fun of it. But I routed the wire
shorter then the instructions. It does say in to do it the way shown.

Checked with a magn lens.

denting power at maxium. I do get 12 watts on the low scale. I did

power supely from Astron. Is the SS 30 not a good unite to be used
