My K3, SN 3091 has popped the 12v circuit breaker. After resetting the breaker
everything works well, full power out with about 16A draw at 14Vdc.
It has done this twice in the last week. I have been working remotely so not
present
to see if any other indications of a fault. Has happened on
ence Manual online.

Is there much danger of issues caused by just turning off its power supply
rather than
doing a commanded off for a K3?
I’m looking at remotely operating an unattended k3.

Just to confirm my reading the schematic, preamp 2 is not available for the sub
RX
when it is using the Aux input.
I am trying to compare two 6m antennas using the main and sub RX on AUX.

Yes, please. Maybe add the ability to show a different window for two sensors
to help
us easily confused so2r guys.
Would also be nice to have a kat500 utility that would show real power output
for those of
us without a kpa500

Is it normal for the 6M output to be about 10 watts less than indicated (i.e.
90w for 100w
setting). If I do the 50w wattmeter cal on 20 M all bands but 6 are pretty
much right on.
Conversely if I cal on 6 then all the lower bands are (not surprisingly) 10
watts high.

This came up as a possibility a couple years ago. I was wondering with the k3s
new RF
board and synthesizers if there is a chance for full duplex operation with the
2nd RX.
Would make for an interesting possibility of single radio "SO2R" operation

Since a discussion of K3 TX IMD routinely shows up, you may be interested in
the

Third order products went from 38db (which isn't so bad on its own, but look at
the 5th order which were worse!) down to -50dbc.

I'm trying integrate a couple of W2 wattmeters into an SO2R setup. As screen
space is
at a premium I was wondering if there was a way to display a smaller bar graph
without
all the extra stuff. (The old Wavenode power meters used to do this, but I

I had asked about how to power a Unbranded (Best Buy) Windows 8.1 tablet while
using the
one micro USB for data as well as charging. I received several good
suggestions but have
found another solution.
I bought a DIgi Anywhere USB/5, which allows connecting to 5 USB ports over
Ethernet.
could hook things up and go.

Hmm, that's interesting. Have you tried a powered USB hub? I would think that
should work.

I bought a win 8.1 (not RT) tablet from Cowboom for $59, hoping to interface it
using its
micro USB port. However the USB port is the only way to provide power to the
thing,
and battery life is such I'd like to leave it on charge while operating, while
not losing the

VSWR. It also shows the Bypass VSWR. Perhaps that is what you are looking
for.

My k3 flashes a higher swr indication with ssb voice peaks than with a steady
carrier.
If using an antenna with 1:1 SWR the bar graph flashes the first segment. If
swr is 1.5:1
all the segments illuminate on voice peaks, as if swr was greater than 3:1. To

I have two K3s, SN in the 3XXX and 4XXX range. I notice that over time I can
see a leading
edge spike on first character of cw. If I redo TxGain calibration it goes
away. It seems like
I need to redo the TxGain cal about every year.
Is this what others see?
