Lou, The charging mechanism for the KBAT2 is specifically for the SLA battery. It may work for the LiFePO4, but that is just a guess on my part based on the terminal voltage. Secondly, you should not exceed 15 volts, so a 4 pack of Li-Ion exceeds that voltage. Then there is the matter of

Deni, It should work fine, especially if you keep the power to 5 watts or under. Set the CAL CUR parameter at 3.50 Amps to avoid HI CUR warnings. If you try to run at 10 watts, the IMD will be reduced and the current draw will be excessive. Remember that the K2 tries to produce the power

Mike, Your battery is not fully charged 13.3 volts is just not enough to fully charge the battery.. If you are going to use your power supply to charge the battery, you will have to increase your power supply voltage to 14.1 to 14.3 volts - there is a pot inside the Astron. The battery does

I recently replaced the internal battery in my K2. I also tweaked the power supply so that the correct charging voltage is supplied to the battery. What a difference! Either the original battery wasn't a winner or the charging voltage was wrong or BOTH. The new battery lasts a good long time.
