Great Bill! I can tell you from experience that 10 dB (1.5 S-units) makes avoiding interference with your and your neighbor's electronics at lot easier in an apartment setting. And, with an antenna about 60 feet long (folded around corners, etc) strung near the ceiling of a top floor 2nd story

On the antenna being a problem... A nice thing about the KX3 is portability. Get yourself a bow-and-arrow, some dracon line (if needed), wire, and go find a park with nice trees and string up your temporary antenna. I have strung up a 20-meter dipole up about 35 feet in a county park.
