By slapping, perhaps W4ZV meant a greater movement of fingers than is really necessary to work a paddle. At least that's the way I took it in the last shot of Chip sending, it looked like he could have been getting into character, with more exaggerated finger movement as a bug - at least for me

[Elecraft] K2 vs R4C A/B CW listening test

2005-05-18 Thread Mike Stricker
Hi Ken, I have an R4C modified with all of the goodies as well. I have found the opposite to be true. I like listening to the K2 over all the other radios that I've owned, but the R4C with the Sherwood filters, audio amp, mixer and product detector AND a good alignment sounds superior for CW

Mike Yes I gave it some thought because I was equally surprised (and disturbed) and concluded that I should have looked into it deeper. In hind site, I beleive that had I dialed the RF gain back a little on the R4C last night, it would have made a world of difference. The truth of what I

Paul: How big is the wire you are using to connect the power supply to the K1. It sounds like you have either too small a conductor for the cable or else a bad connection in the plug at the power supply or the K1. Switch the K1 display to read the battery voltage and record it. Then key the
