Thanks guys. That is very fast response. I have as a result of these suggestions, updated to the newest revision of the firmware. I had thought that the radio was giving me information through the tones, but I couldn't find it. I turned off the SW TONE, and that will probably do it. I will see

Richard, Check the SW TONE menu If you have it set to CODE nn (where nn is WPM), then you will get that morse when you push a button - it is a nice feature for sight impaired amatuers. That can also be turned on by Holding the AFP/AN button while turning the KX2 on. 73, Don W3FPR On
