I think it would be great if you could attach a modifier key to hotcorners. So
the user could choose to have a hotcorner activate only if he were holding
CTRL, or whatever.

I think we'd be taking a major risk in changing that icon. To me, that cog
has grown to be an iconic symbol of the elementary project, along with the
two iterations of the "e" logo. It signifies simplification; that this
program is so simple that it only requires on simple sub menu for options.

My problem is that I really like the names that we have for the apps! I'd be
sad if we lost them. Maybe we should keep the names as they are in English, at
least, and use the generic in other languages.
