Till now i compiled it for myself...is finished in no time and works flawless.
Ah I just remembered that I need to compile with epchar.min for UTF-8 support
so I think the debian package is no use for me.

I use debian testing for my embperl servers which run flawless ;-)
apache2, mod_perl2 but I use a self-installed embperl cause the
libembperl packages are embperl 1.3 afaik and not 2.0.
Try to download the newest embperl 2.0beta and install it.
The config files look ok.
