help to have the Perl and Apache versions used, what the error

Hi,
For apache 1.3.12, in compiling mod_perl, I found that I had

Hi,
If it's any consolation, I got similar problems at this same
point with perl 5.6.0 on Win32, compiled with the
d_perl/mod_ssl binary, based on
perl-5.6.0, that has crypt built in, like ActiveState's.
And it'll also be coming from Canada. However, among some
other things, the latest CPAN versions of both mod_perl and
Embperl need some changes to compile with this combination, and

The current mod_perl ppm package is based on Apache_1.3.22, a binary

relative paths like '../' can fail, even on Unix. You could use
the FindBin module to locate the directory of your script, and
then specify the path relative to that, as in
'/path/to/script/..'.

Maybe try upgrading to mod_perl-1.26_01, which is the
mod_perl.ppd from http://theoryx5.uwinnipeg.ca/ppmpackages/. This
is the mod_perl version against which the Embperl ppm package was
compiled.

ll look at this some more on the
weekend, but in the meantime, what you could do is download
HTML-Embperl.ppd and x86/HTML-Embperl.tar.gz from
http://theoryx5.uwinnipeg.ca/ppmpackages manually, edit the .ppd
file to reflect the local location of the .tar.gz file, remove

Try, in the config file
LoadModule perl_module modules/mod_perl.so
Also, if you have a "ClearModuleList" directive after
this enabled, you'll have to add
AddModule mod_perl.c

Might this be because the DB_File module hasn't been installed?
It's not included in the standard ActivePerl distribution, but

Alas, that has no effect.

Try putting in a 'use Apache2;' in Embperl.pm, at around line 69,
and also in test/conf/startup.pl, at around line 34, just around
the parts where mod_perl 2 stuff is being pulled in.
