Jan,
Check out EN 301 489-17 V1.2.1 : Electromagnetic compatibility and Radio
spectrum Matters (ERM);ElectroMagnetic Compatibility (EMC) standard for
radio equipment and services; Part 17: Specific conditions for 2,4 GHz
wideband transmission systems and 5 GHz high performance RLAN equipment
Amund et. al,
Since IMO is a member organization, I doubt there is such thing as an

Jan,
802.11h is in the works which will share some of the 5GHz band with military
radar and be a somewhat worldwide standard. I believe that 802.11i will
shortly follow with added security enhancements. I have a presentation on
this somewhere but can't locate it for more details at the moment
There is an ETSI standard EN 301 893 http://pda.etsi.org/pda/AQuery.asp
The standard is not harmonized yet, but recently published.

Hi,
Has anyone encountered any issues with these devices with regard to Radiated
Emissions at 75MHz (and 100, 125, 150) and any recommendations to correct
please.
Many thanks

We currently conduct the DO-160x, Sec. 15 test using a declination compass
manufactured by Ames Instrument Company. The compass has 0.5 degree markings
which allows you to resolve to 0.25 degrees quite easily by eye.
The external test labs that we deal with conduct the test in this manner as
Does anyone know if there are any RTTE Harmonized Standards for a 5

Thanks,

An arc is more than just a plasma discharge. An arc is when the current
density is quite high and the gas goes from abnormal glow discharge into the
arc region.

Hi all,
I'm looking into the best way to perform the magnetic field from equipment
test in DO-160. I'm currently using a compass, but has any one got a better
idea?
If I have to stick with a compass, has anyone go a preferred Vendor/model?
Thanks,

Hi Kevin,
there is a version of Ethernet called Industrial Ethernet. One of the leaders
is Contemporary Controls. I've tested their hubs and they are very good...
