[PSES] Ribbon Cable Question

Quick question; has there been any recent issues or new restrictions regarding the use of Ribbon Cable internal to equipment? There is a rumor spreading throughout our RD group that we can no longer use ribbon cable. I have not heard anything official and assume as long as you use it in
