Regan, I'm not sure I understand your question correctly, but I will try to provide an answer. ANSI C63.4 is used when testing for FCC part 15 subpart B compliance for unintentional radiators. When testing a table-top system, the collocated equipment should be spaced at 10cm, unless this is

2017-03-09 Thread dward
Actually, C63,4:2014 is the FCC referenced standard now, not C63.4:2003. So, the 2014 edition should be used. In any case, the FCC generally requires that at least one of each type port be filled on the EUT and a minimum of at least of the different type 2 ports be filled on a host that is

Regan, In regards to the daisy chaining: Hook up equipment (daisy chaining) until such a time as you don't get a 2 dB increase of any unwanted signals. I think this is in ANSI or CISPR? Everyone, What am I remembering partly here? Thanks, Michael Sundstrom Garmin Compliance Engineer 2-2606

It's been awhile, but at the time when wanting to understand modular test requirements, the 2dB asymptote/leveling off was a reference in FCC Part 15 Section 15.31 (a) (3) pointing to ANSI C63.4-2003. Regards, Adam in Atlanta On Thu, Mar 9, 2017 at 1:16 PM, Sundstrom, Mike

To add to Rich's answer which is correct; I am very involved in this now, and at the recent TC108 US TAG meeting in NC, the US committee unanimously voted no as this standard has so many technical issues, especially relating to RFT. I personally had comments in regards to almost every line

Regan, I think the EMC community can agree that just because a device label indicates it is compliant doesn't mean it really is. We see that in the lab very often. ANSI C63.4 does offer quite a bit of detail regarding EUT setup & operation, connection of EUT ports and peripheral and accessory

Hello, I have a question regarding radio certification testing. Given that the EUT is the RADIO it is my opinion that all other emissions ( for example from DDR signals) that do *not* fall in the restricted bands can be discounted. Am I wrong?? Best Regards Charles Grasso Compliance Engineer

Here is the problem with the ‘2 dB rule’. If there are only two ports it simply makes more sense to cable the ports. If the device passes, go no further. If you only fill one port, then you have to still fill the remaining port to meet the 2dB rule, even if it passes. So, why waste the

Also, here is something else I thought of that might impact your original question and reinforces Rich’s response as well. (even if you are not RFT.) In the scope of 62368-3 there is a really ambiguous and strange sentence that exempts some DC power transfer equipment completely from 62368-3.
