Richard,
I found the website for the State of Vermont with the info you are

Items to be labeled are:
(1) A thermostat or thermometer.
(2) A switch, individually or as part of another product.
(3) A medical or scientific instrument.

EN 61000-4-11 states that the rise/fall time for a test generator used
to perform a voltage abnormalities test (i.e. dips, variations etc
should be between 1 and 5 microseconds.)
Does anyone know of a generator that meets this criterion? I have
come across a few but they typically cannot be
Tr usually ment risetime when referred to pulsed signals. In this case I
think it refers to response time less than 10Hz. In other words you'll get
a reading in less than the period of ten hertz at the frequency of
measurement.

Hello All,
Today we received a few hundred courtesy copies (For free distribution) of

Could someone please layout the Fullcompliance EMI Measurement system

each one is required and when one could get by with the pre-compliance setup
would be especially helpful. I know this may be a
Mark,
Thank you for your informative and humorous posting. May I take the
opportunity of asking to be kept informed re the lead-free solder debate?
Like you I worry about silver leaching, and more.
Incidently, my father is/was a (master) plumber, so he knows a thing or two
about soldering,
Does anyone out there know of a source(s) through which I may purchase an
absorption clamp used to test in the EN50083-2 standard??? Are these items
available for rent? I am looking to debug and pre-comply with this clamp
in-house.

Hi Mark,
No. The MDD, Article 14 address this. You only have to register with the
CO of the country where you have your authorized representative. But, I
have heard that some countries have passed national laws requiring you to
register all devices.

I need clarification on a spec for an e-field probe. The spec is
Tr less than 10 Hz.
What is Tr?
The probe is specified in SAE J1113/27 Electromagnetic
Compatibility Measurements Procedure for Vehicle Components:
Part 27:Immunity to Radiated Electromagnetic
Fields-Reverberation Method.
Dear Members,
In the EEC if I register a Class I Medical Device with a Competent Authority
in one Membered State, must I register with other Competent Authorities as
we eventually market product their State. All input is appreciated.

Carmen,
I'm not familiar with IEC 65, but for EN 60950 an attachment of a laser
safety report to the EN 60950 report is typical. There is no requirement in
IEC 825 (a.k.a. EN 60825)for use of a 'certified' laser lab. But as with
many specifications, it is to your adavantage to use an independent
