As a matter of fact the local SCV EMC society paper next week is about EM
radiation
from fiber optics. No, not from the glass or plastic itself!, but from the
metalized
reflector coating and also from the proximity of the Tx diode next to the
connector.
Actually measurable radiation!

Looks like he means 55015. After all it is effectively a luminaire. He
needs a rather large Van Veen Loop.

Yup, I agree. Although I have been known when it was just dirt cheap and
quick to throw the cables into a trench and run a test, just to avoid a
question. My somewhat cynical side says, that most reports quick a quick
once-over until the reader finds any anomaly - no matter how small.
David,
It gets pretty dark and cold here in central NY about this time of year. I'll
test that sun bed for you. Make sure that you send a fully equipped test
sample to include: magazine, parasol, a pail of sand, a conch shell, two
coronas, a beach towel and some Bain de Solei :-) Oh, almost
Hi,
I'm wondering how to handle fiber optic cables under the new EN55022
going into effect August 2003. Measurements are supposed to be made
on telecommunications cables, and fiber optic cables are being used
for telecommunications. From my reading of the standard I don't see
that they
Brian,
There is a CB scheme Test Report Form for EN 60950-1 and IEC 60950-1
(Form No. IECEN60950_1A) created by SGS Fimko Ltd that is available from
the IEC Web Store.

However, I don't know if IEC 60950-1:2001 has been adopted by all of the member
countries of the CB

Even here in the USA, some things like 130 volt incandescent light bulbs
aren't too hard to find.

Probably this is why on the EU market one can find electrical apparatus with a
switch 220-120Vac.
Thanks,

I can confirm what Andre says.
My parents house is built in 1955, 130Vac single phase was provided
throughout the whole house (ligthning, socket outlets).
In the seventies, an additional 220V 3phase delta was brought in for an
electric waterboiler and hot plate in the kitchen.

Interesting that the 130V mentioned for Belgium doesn't
appear in the list for the below link. Makes me wonder how
many other voltage systems are out there that aren't
identified, even though the country is in the list.
FWIW, I've read (perhaps on this list or on usenet) of 25 Hz
systems

Hi everyone
Could anyone tell me what approvals we would need, so we can sell a natural
gas flow meter in the Japanese market.
Presumably we need to test to their EMC standards. Could anyone point us in
the right direction for obtaining English versions of their standards.
Thanks
