Gentlemen,
I want to use this opportunity to express my thanks and appreciation to
you all who helped me getting my feet on the ground of electronics and
digital technology again. Especially the developer team, never leaving a
problem unsolved, aided my efforts to find the threads that I had to
I have configured my X and Y axis home positions using switches, but am
having problems understanding the Z axis. When I tell it to home, the
axis wants to move down (away from my switch). I realize I had to
invert the signal in stepconfig in order to move the axis down in a
negative
My thanks as well - you folks have been wonderful guides into this brave new
world that I'm attempting to enter.
I look forward to being able to answer more questions and needing to ask
fewer in the new year :-)

It's been a while, but you might need to define Z axis limits are 0 to
-4.75 and have a home position as -0.5
It doesn't matter in normal use, as
EMC2 has been a wonderful journey of my life. Special thanks and best
holiday wishes to all EMC2 developers and supporters, merry Christmas to
those who celebrate it and happy holidays to all of us.

For my z axis (4.5 travel) I defined my travel limits as 1.0 to -3.5. That
way if I am doing a quick cut, I start things up , home to the corners of
the piece and cut on my no limit switched stepper gantry.
