Not since 2.8. In previous versions you would have to create dummy axis as
place holders. They didn't have to have anything assigned to them or show up
on the GUI, but their place holders needed to appear in the ini file. But with

Well I've found a use for one of the Beagles. Downloaded the OS image for it,
added samba.

I am not sure but it appears many of the maintainers went professional to
support machinekit-hal for Tormach.
There appears to be no updates on the other repositories. That means
updates are required for new operation systems. They now use cmake-5.22
for example.
