Microstepping increases resolution but not accuracy, you can easily lose torque in intermediate positions, any stiffness in the rotary will just add error. Perhaps the worst thing I have seen though is rotary error itself, the lower the reduction ratio usually means a greater error from the worm/wh

Good year to all, I have a board that can do microstepping but I would not use microstepping because the manual says that while it rises the precision it also reduces the torque. On Sun, 2016-01-03 at 01:02 -0500, Cecil Thomas wrote: > My question is about what happens to the "leftovers" when the

My question is about what happens to the "leftovers" when the precision of the g code commanded position cannot be met by the hardware executing it. Several years ago I wrote a program to "generate" involute gear teeth by making multiple cuts of the same tooth from differing angles with a rack

Before it. Literally run a green wire from the X2 terminal to the single point ground or to the steel backplane assuming you have one. The protective fuse on X1 should be prior to the filter also. Dave On 1/2/2016 7:26 AM, John Thornton wrote: > I do have a "control transformer" which can

Hi John, To me it still looks like you have the 120VAC side of the transformer totally isolated from frame ground. As John Kasunich has also stated it's incredibly dangerous to have that 120VAC voltage floating. One side of the transformer should be immediately connected to Earth (Frame) right

I had waterjet for 6 years (yes, also retrofitted to LinuxCNC) and I _always_ had the water tank as full as possible - much less splashes around. Nothing like you had in the video. If possible, you might want to try to submerge the workpiece under surface of water - the cutting process is much more

I do have a "control transformer" which can be identified by the three fuses on top. One for X1 (secondary) and one each for L1 and L2. I went back and found out which was X1 and X2 and will correct my wiring today. My question is I have a filter on X1 and X2 should I ground before or after the
