I thought about using the PRUs but I want my code to be portable so I
avoid using them. Instead I do that kind of work with ARM Cortex-M.

Sometimes there are advantages with real buttons.

Hi Lester,
Perhaps that's why I see such potential with MachineKit on the Beagle. As I
understand it the infrastructure is already in place for full CNC control
with the two PRUs doing the bulk of the high speed motion control. The need
for yet another product attached to it to do that isn't need
Hi Lester,
I have two different displays for my Beagles. Three if you count the one
that I bought for the 3D printer Replicape but doesn't have good sensitivity
near the edges so it's pretty well useless. As a result I'm not that fond
of touch screens. Just too dangerous for any operations that

There are a number of more than capable mill solutions. It's adding the
turn functions with a multi slot sensor on the chuck which are less
prevalent?

I haven't measured it, but with my mini-mill you could slap the side
of the head and watch it all go "sproing".

Hi Marcus,
Thanks for the insight into the differences.
I design hardware and write software for it for a living. Both PC and
embedded and lately most of it is Controller Area Network oriented. The
machine shop, that I've finally gotten back into after a number of year
break, is a place to ge

True. I use both Mach3 and LinuxCNC (on a PC, although I do have a Beaglebone
Black). For a little while I used Mach3 as the go-to software, but I use
LinuxCNC almost exclusive
