Re: [Emc-users] class RCS_CMD_CHANNEL

2018-10-08 Thread Jeff Epler
Refer to our testsuite for a simple standalone "UI" program which is
tested to correctly link in every build of LinuxCNC.

https://github.com/LinuxCNC/linuxcnc/blob/master/tests/build/ui/nml-position-logger.cc

Removing the inclusion of "emc_nml.hh" causes errors similar to the ones
you encountered. This header probably indirectly includes the one that
Seb mentioned in a sibling reply.

Instead of making bearings I would look at what Igus and others have to
sell.

They are not that expensive and you have plenty of other things to do.
Regenerative Vacuum blowers work well for vacuum hold down work.    They
are still power hogs and quite noisy without mufflers on the outputs.
They are sometimes sold on Ebay for not much since few people know what
they are.

The other browsers don't have the auto-login setup.

I did find one javascript function disabled, so I enabled it and was then
able to put in the new cc nums, and got 2 of them bought. But at an exra
30 usd for expedited delivery from west chengzou china, I'll probably be

putzing around getting the 12 ga connectors off it, fixed it. How long?
DamnifIknow. But I'll leave the line cord accessable so I can pull it
if I hear nothing but the compressor running.

But ATM I've put it back together, and am watching the neighborhood for a
stronger back than mine to help me stick it back in the window hole. I
got it down onto a wagon coming out, but theres no way I can pick it up
and stuff it back where it goes, 2 crushed disks have put a stop to 98%

Re-installation of the web browser is usually the best way to get back to a

 I am not familiar with this software, but just on general principle,
 you are missing the definitions of the type/class Infiile and the
 defined symbol EMC_NMLFILE.
 what I'd do is find where they are---e.g.
 grep -r EMC_NMLFILE ~
 Hopefully this will find the files that define them, and then you'll
 just add them to the compile options. Not LIBS though---it probably
 should be something like INCLUDES or some such.

OK addind this insclude statement I get no error about messaging ...

#include "include/cmd_msg.hh"
#include "include/stat_msg.hh"

but the right call was:

emcCommandBuffer = new RCS_CMD_CHANNEL(emcFormat, "emcCommand", "xemc",
emc_nmlfile, 0); . because, as RCS_STAT_CHANNEL the class definition is:

class RCS_STAT_CHANNEL:public NML {
  public:
RCS_STAT_CHANNEL(NML_FORMAT_PTR, const char *, const char *, const char
*, int set_to_server = 0);
 ~RCS_STAT_CHANNEL();
RCS_STAT_MSG *get_address() {

[Emc-users] class RCS_CMD_CHANNEL

2018-10-08 Thread theman whosoldtheworld
Where are located definition of class RCS_CMD_CHANNEL ??

I try to use it on my c++ program but everytime compare the warning:

warning: ‘emcCommandBuffer’ has incomplete type static RCS_CMD_CHANNEL
*emcCommandBuffer = 0;

and than some error such as:

error: invalid use of incomplete type ‘class RCS_STAT_CHANNEL’
emcStatusBuffer = new RCS_STAT_CHANNEL(emcFormat, "emcStatus", "xemc",
emc_nmlfile);

I think become from nml.hh but never see the class definition.

IIRC yes. The file method is intended to improve the accuracy of screws,
and not normally needed with ballscrews and ballnuts. lincurve, the
loadable module does this also, but can be cross coupled to do an x
correction according to z position. but needs an offset module to hide
the difference from LCNC.

Otherwise the correction is seen as a following error so the offset
module puts the correction in going to the motor, and takes it back out
of the motors feedback.

This is how I am improving the turning accuracy of a 70 yo Sheldon 11x36
that has some bed wear just in front of the spindle. I took readings
every 1/4" and made a curve out of that for a first approximation by
mounting a .0001 dial to the toolpost, bringing the tailstock up and
putting the dials finger on its barrel, then took a reading as I used
the carriage to push the loose tailstock down the bed, the theory being
that since it rides a different vway on the rear of the bed it s/b
straighter. This then was cherry picked for high points in the deviation
and applied to the lincurve modules set points. So now its only about 2
thou out, where it was nearly 10 thou out at the start. Now I have a
laser setup to fine tune that under construction. The laser itself s/b
done today, but the camera and some python code are yet to be built.

My AC in the garage has died, so that, if I can get it out of the window
and onto a worktable, I'm 84 with a bad back, may occupy me today. Its
already 77F at 10 am local, and forecast to be a record breaker today.

Something in the control panel has died, and it even runs intermittently
when turned off, but doesn't cool. All the rain and humidity from
Florence froze it up into a solid block of ice a month ago, so I expect
I'll find a bad transistor or a failed capacitor in the control board.
I am a C.E.T. so if I can get my rusty thinker working again, I s/b able
to fix it. No help from Frigidaire of course, its 6 or 8 years old. And
this time of the year, all the window units have been sold off at fire
sale prices already to make room for Christmas stuff. Gr.
