I may still have one #35 taper tool holder. May be NMTB style. I used to have
two, managed to sell one. Like certain other oddballs that were rarely used,
such as 4C, you'll pay a premium for tooling and variety will be poor. If you
need larger than #30, go with #40. If you just can't pass up a

What's your tolerance for a working machine vs a project?
Three Phase available?
I think the hardware looks snazzy, I'd dubious about it actually being
bt35, guessing more like a 40 taper. For myself I'd strip the

Hi Stuart,
The Matsuura MC-1000V5 Spindle Speed: 3,600 RPM Geared Head. Surprised me as

Spindle Taper: BT45
They are beasts. I have a slightly smaller 710V that I use for just about
anything.
Wish it was closer but

you have done one before, fine.
The main issue is, it is open. I have an open mill and it plays havoc with my
health. I have now narrowed down my cough to when I'm running my mill with
flood coolant. The 3 times the pric

When we got our matsuura (bt35) we where told that too - that tooling would
be expensive and hard to find. After keeping an eye on ebay we have all
the tooling we would ever need. (and it was pretty inexpensive)
