I sent 3 emails until I finally didn't get a message your message is awaiting approval - message too big, and in the end the attachment got stripped away anyway. :( I pasted it here, it will last 7 days: http://picpaste.com/icons_arrow-4KZOVFu9.jpg I checked the settings you said, there were 2 layers as you expected, Background and Overlay, neither had systray enabled. On a sidenote, the audio was working right after installation and now it's not anymore. I even rebooted!!! heheh ;-/ I'll worry about that after the systray stuff. Anyway, from your description I think there is a systray instance as a gadget on desktop, so you need to remove that before adding another to the shelf. This can be done via Main-menu=Settings=Gadget. You will need to compile it with sudo, it will not work without. Ok. So, installed sudo, recompiled+installed and it's working. With one detail though, if I end the session, instead of closing and going back to entrance, X session ends and I see a tty. One side question.. is autologin working? (Aside from setting the variable to 1 and the name of the user, what do I have to do to set it up?
