I ran into this a while back. I think I had to set the
enlightenment_sys executable (probably /usr/bin/enlightenment_sys or
/usr/local/bin/enlightenment_sys) to setuid root.

I don't have batget or tempget, but I do have enlightment_sys, and it's
already suid root. Also, I installed it as root to begin with in the
default prefix (/usr/local).

[e-users] greyed power buttons in system module

2009-06-10 Thread Matthew Morgan
I just upgraded to revision 40965, and now all the power related buttons
in the system module are greyed out. I can't do shutdown, restart,
suspend, or hibernate. I got the note to rebuild all modules, and I
rebuilt everything I had from E-MODULES-EXTRA, but the system module
would have been rebuilt as part of e17 or ecore, would it not?

When I right click in systray, nothing happens. Also, I'm running e17,
so I don't have eesh. Is there a way to run that command using
enlightenment_remote? I tried reading the man page, but it has a LOT of
options, and I didn't see anything about calling up a configuration dialog.

How do you set the icon size for systray? I can't seem to find it anywhere.

Thanks! This fixed it for me. Just as a note to people, (I didn't know
what edge-bindings was, so this wasn't obvious to me) once you load the
edje-bindings module, you set it up under settings->input.

I like to use knotes, which has a systray icon, so I updated my e17 and
libs to head and built the new module. My knotes icon doesn't load in
the systray, though. It still just floats around like it used to.

I don't plan on trying to figure it out. It works. ;)

Anyway, my gtk fonts looked fine as soon as I removed the custom stuff I
put in .gtkrc to fix them. I think KDE is managing both KDE-QT and GTK
when you start kcminit. It'd be nice if it wasn't so complicated.

Ah! This is exactly what I needed. It still makes my gtk fonts too
big, but I think I can fix that in kcontrol. Thank you very much!

[e-users] kde app fonts

2009-02-27 Thread Matthew Morgan
Sorry if this has already been answered sometime on this list, but I've
searched google for an hour now, and can't find the answer.

I recently switched from KDE to enlightenment. When I use kde
applications in e17, the font settings don't get loaded. For instance,
the fonts in Quanta are very small. I've tried using qtconfig; it has
no effect. I noticed that if I run kcontrol and change the font size,
then change it back, my font settings get loaded. Is there a way to
make this happen at startup?

Also, when using the kcontrol work around, my gtk fonts get changed.
This is sort of annoying, but I guess I could live with it.
