Re: [e-users] Removing items from a Gadgets Bar

2018-06-04 Thread Daniel Kasak
Thanks Stephen :)

So I found where to reset my config, but the wizard wouldn't let me select
'ALT' as the keyboard modifier ( or whatever it's called ) ... so now I
can't move windows with the usual alt-click-drag at all ... with the
exception that I *can* drag the clock off the gadget bar with
alt-click-drag, but that gives me an immediate crash :)

Let's say I'll deal with having the clock in all my gadgets for now. Where
can I set 'ALT' as the modifier thing so I can alt-click-drag windows?
Sorry ... I've spent 10 minutes searching and can't find it.

Your config was broken by a commit in early May. I sent out a post about
this if you look back through the archive. It broke key modifiers this
effectively breaking the way gadgets and gadget bars work. I found the
commit in question and reverted the problem in question breaking
configurations, but if you had updated to the broken configuration, the
damage was done. You will have to reset your config after updating to a
current E. You can do this by going to the settings panel and scratching
the config. I don't have the exact steps as I'm not in front of my computer
but it's something like settings panel -> config -> scratch. The actual
steps are detailed in my previous mail about it if you find it in the
archives.

[e-users] Removing items from a Gadgets Bar

2018-06-04 Thread Daniel Kasak
Hi all.

I used to be able to remove gadgets from a gadgets bar by
alt-click-dragging it onto the desktop, and then deleting it from there.
This doesn't seem to work any more. For example, the default clock that
appears on all gadget bars ... when I alt-click-drag it, it just displays
the calendar pop-up, and doesn't drag. Is there another way to move/delete
gadgets?
