KDE's screensavers aren't nearly as cool as xscreensavers. Can I use
xscreensavers under KDE? What do I edit where? (RedHat box)
I want to benchmark my read speeds on my cdrom's. How? I only seem to be
finding info in French or Japanese.
And for those interested: the latest latest Mandrake 8.
I would try it this way.
/dev/hda -> linux/gnu :-)
/dev/hdb -> Winders
/dev/hdc->CDROM
Winders doesn't really require primary master but does prefer first channel.
Disconnect your linux drive, install 98, reconnect linux, update lilo. When
you reboot with the linux drive reconnected it'll be the

I know grub does the same thing in a different way. If lilo doesn't work you
can use grub from a boot floppy.

I was on slashdot and they had something about wearable so I checked out the

The only bad thing is it's running windows ce. I'd wipe it and install
linux. Or possibly they might offer a linux version. :
Wow.
I was forced to use kde today. I am very very impressed by what kde has
to offer the overworked internet programmer in the way of features. I
think billg was using kde2 when he came up with that whole
internet/desktop integration idea.
Just wow. I mean wow.
I am an official Konvert.

Linux can be a slave. Linux can be dominant. Linux will lick your
boot or it will grind its boot into your face. Linux doesn't care
whether you're straight, gay, top, bottom, bi, or celebate.
Linux goes all ways.
Oh
So, does Linux have a problem being a slave to windows? The following
scenario would be optimal for both linux and windows, according to the
cited webpage:
/dev/hda -> windows (master primary)
/dev/hdb -> linux (slave primary)
/dev/hdc -> cdrom (master secondary)
/dev/hdd -> none

For windows, the preferred is...?
/dev/hda -> Windows hard drive (master primary)
/dev/hdb -> none
/dev/hdc -> Linux (master secondary)
/dev/hdd -> CDROM (slave secondary)
I originally put the CD on the other IDE controller b/c I've heard it
is faster this way. If I use Linux more, would I
Windows wants master primary. Linux doesn't care. If you make Linux hdc, all you
have to do is adjust fstab to fit and tell lilo how to boot.

I am trying Sylpheed for the first time and so far I have been more impressed with it
than with any other mail program in quite some time. I'm waiting for he other shoe to
drop or for all my mail to suddenly disappear... What is the downside to Sylpheed?
Why don't I hear more about it?

I'm wanting to install windows 98 on my system. Currently it is a
linux only machine. My drive configuration is as follows:
/dev/hda -> Linux hard drive (master primary)
/dev/hdb -> none
/dev/hdc -> want to be windows drive (master secondary)
/dev/hdd -> CDROM (slave secondary)
/dev/hdc ha

YES, STILL THE SAME RESPONSE (verbose clip below)
(BTW, I shut portsentry down for this test)
Hmmm, a puzzler ;-)
how about using the -l option to skip verifying identity and use password
instead, do you still get the same results?
I just tried ssh'ing back to my workstation from garcia and it sez
connection refused which is what I expect...

Ben and Larry, thanks for the feedback.
To add more info, yes, the RH box (800 mi away) is outside my LAN (-: ,
and so is efn. I was also able to connect to the RH box from efn (and I am
pretty sure I was the first one on efn who established ssh connection to
that site).
