I'm using BMS boards form evessamble, theyre inexpensive but need 3 or 4 wires for charging and load. And the boards not covered so I've shorted some boards. I got a bms form headway headquarters its only has 2 wires for charging and load, it has metal heatsinkng, good heavy silicone wiring, and its well covered form shorting by a plexiglass cover. The Tivoli Electric Vehicle with Range Extender (EVR) uses eco-friendly electric vehicle technology, the company said. The side panel of the body is made of carbon fiber, achieving a very low weight. The front bumper and the rear carbon diffuser, which minimize the air resistance coefficient, also have improved efficiency. The Tivoli EVR features a small gasoline engine, a 95kW motor, and a 25kWh lithium-ion battery. It is possible to travel 130 kilometers on EV mode and 500 kilometers on “range extend” mode. It has a maximum speed of 150km/h, while it emits carbon emissions of only 35g/km. SsangYong Motor is planning to open a European office in Frankfurt, Germany and expand its sales locations to 700 all over Europe. SsangYong Motor CEO Lee Yoo-il said, “By sequentially launching the Tivoli by region in the future, we will strengthen the brand power of SsangYong Motor not only in the European market but also in the global SUV market.” [© businesskorea.co.kr] http://www.largus.fr/geneve/ssangyong-tivoli-evr-la-version-electrique-du-suv-est-quasi-prete-5996404.html [Frenchtranslate.googleEnglish} SsangYong Tivoli EVR: the electric version of the SUV is almost ready 04 mars 2015 Didier Ric [images http://www.largus.fr/images/images/ssangyong-tivolievr-2015-cg_01.jpg The new SsangYong Tivoli is already available in electric version at the Geneva show in 2015 http://www.largus.fr/images/images/ssangyong-tivolievr-2015-cg_05.jpg (rear) http://www.largus.fr/images/images/ssangyong-tivolievr-2015-cg_02.jpg (hood art) ] ... Re: [EVDL] Fwd: Calling all owners of cheap Chinese EV's? (the Jonway Massimo / Mullen 100e / Atomic-EV / etc)
On Sat, Mar 7, 2015 at 2:12 AM, Cor van de Water via EV ev@lists.evdl.org wrote: The Made by ZAP is that the same vehicle? Can they help you to get info on the controller? I initially contacted the ZAP motors folks when I was interested in the vehicle. On their web site it still says coming soon to the USA. Well, it's for sale in the USA, it's just not through them directly. They put me in touch with a reseller, who I have since reached out to (no response from them yet). Else it will simply be a matter of trying - take a multimeter and measure the voltage on the pins of the connector. If you see one that is between 6 and 12V and occasionally dips (varies) in voltage then that might be an RS232 TX line. Oscilloscope will tell you if it is a digital comm signal. I am by no means an electrical engineer. But I have done quite a bit of fooling around in with multi-meters and serial connections over the years. I have a nice breadboard / breakout board ready for the task. But I haven't been able to find a 10-pin DIN that fits that weird interface. I have been digging through Digi-keys catalog and I found a few that *might* fit. But most 10 pin DIN's are three distinct rows of straight aligned pins. And this thing is intentionally different. I am trying to avoid making any direct connections or clipping any wires. Seeing the 5 connectors: red, black and 3 color outputs, tells me that this is an AC controller. I presume that the connectors with the double row of contacts are the control inputs (switches, sensors and throttle) but in my controller, there is also a serial interface on one of these connectors (but that is not a chinese controller). Even if you can find the serial port connections, it will be another challenge to find out how to program it... You are correct! The double rows of pins on that side are where my standard controls connect. Perhaps they run elsewhere into the vehicle and there is a serial port there? I don't have a wiring map for this vehicle. I would love to get my hands on a service manual. But something tells me it would need translated. There isn't a whole lot to this thing, and it's very easy to take apart. If I can get some warm weather out here I will strip her down and go on an Easter egg hunt. Proxim Wireless Corporation http://www.proxim.com Hey, kudos on your wireless cards. [EVDL] EVLN: Motiv “Frankenstein” Electrified Trucks w/ Ford F59 Chassis
http://cleantechnica.com/2015/03/02/frankenstein-electric-trucks-ford-f59-chassis/ “Frankenstein” Electric Trucks With Ford F59 Chassis March 2nd, 2015 by Tina Casey [image http://c1cleantechnicacom.wpengine.netdna-cdn.com/files/2015/03/F59-chassis-for-electric-truck.png F59 chassis for electric trucks http://c1cleantechnicacom.wpengine.netdna-cdn.com/files/2015/03/Motiv-electric-truck-.jpg Motiv electric truck http://c1cleantechnicacom.wpengine.netdna-cdn.com/files/2015/03/motiv-electric-bus.jpg motiv electric bus ] It’s alive! Ford Motor Company’s F59 stripped chassis looks like something that needs a good shot of juice to make it jump, and the company Motiv Power Systems has just what the doctor ordered. Motiv has just announced that it’s offering a slew of electric trucks, buses, and vans based on the chassis, which would otherwise be used for churning out more diesel-mobiles. Is it that easy to build an electric truck, bus, van, or whatever? Apparently so, if you don’t start from scratch. Off-The-Shelf Electric Trucks It looks like Motiv has taken a hint from Dr. Frankenstein, who was famous for his creative use of readymade parts. Too bad he is no longer with us — would love to see what he could do with self-assembling materials and 3-D printing — but his legacy lives on. Rather than assembling purpose-built electric vehicles from the ground up, Motive has developed an economical, flexible, off-the shelf approach that combines its proprietary electric powertrain with proven, reliable components. We’ve been following Motiv around since 2012, when it announced plans to build a fleet of 20 all-electric garbage trucks for Chicago. Each weighs in at 52,000 pounds and can carry a nine-ton payload, so if you thought all-electric driving was just for lightweights, guess again. The battery pack runs all systems on the truck, including the 1,000 pounds-per-cubic-foot compactor. More to the point, each truck is expected to save the city money on operating costs while eliminating the use of about 2,688 gallons of diesel yearly. Our sister site Gas2.org also took note of Motiv in 2013 when it introduced a full-sized all-electric school bus based on Ford’s E450 chassis. Last summer, Motiv scored $7.3 million from Magness Investment Group to expand its electric vehicle operations, and it looks like the company has not let any grass grow under its feet. Did we also mention that last year Motiv nailed a 2014 Best of What’s New award from Popular Science? We Can’t Wait For An All-Electric Food Truck! We’re huge food truck fans but conventional food trucks run on diesel and we were just waiting for a fairy godmother to come around and turn them into clean, emission-free electric vehicles. While we were waiting, Motiv took things into its new hands with its latest electric truck announcement. According to Motiv, the F59 chassis is typically used for food trucks as well as delivery trucks, refrigerated trucks, tool vans, and walk-in or step vans. As the basis for a Motiv-generated vehicle, the F59 will support a 100-mile range. Based on Motiv’s experience with electrified vehicles so far, the expected reduction in operating costs compared to diesel trucks is 87%. Here’s a rundown from Motiv: The Motiv All-Electric Powertrain includes the Motiv electric Powertrain Control System (ePCS), batteries, motor, charger, heating, air conditioning and other components. It is installed via ship-through and requires minimal modification to the body and final vehicle design while maintaining performance. Top it off with universal charging compatibility and a secure remote telematics and diagnostics system, and Bob’s your uncle. The first company to latch onto Motiv’s latest offering is AmeriPride, the linens and uniform specialist. The company has ordered a fleet of 6 walk-in vans for its operations in Fresno, California. Aside from a savings on operating costs and far greater stability for fuel prices, AmeriPride is looking to burnish its green cred. AmeriPride CEO Jim Castelaz is not shy about backing up the US Navy in its efforts to take on the climate change denial caucus in Congress, by the way. Here’s his money quote from the press release: …Today, the vast majority of trucks and buses are completely dependent on fossil fuel. Combine this with unpredictability of fuel prices and increasing health concerns over toxic emissions and their contribution to climate change and it’s clear that a shift is needed. Right you are, Jim! So, food truck owners, whaddaya think? You can catch the new all-electric F59 over at the Indianapolis Work Truck Show this week. Just go over to booth #501 and tell them CleanTechnica sent you. [EVDL] EVLN: U.S. Exxon Mobil EV-charging-network Game
http://www.bidnessetc.com/34970-exxon-mobil-corporation-entering-the-ev-game-with-charging-facilities/ Exxon Mobil Corporation Entering The EV Game With Charging Facilities By: George Zack Feb 17, 2015 [image http://images.bidnessetc.com/img/exxon-mobil-corporation-entering-the-ev-game-with-charging-facilities.jpg (cartoon) ] A huge development in the EV business is afoot, as oil and gas multinational Exxon Mobil plans to build EV-charging facilities in the US The US-based oil and natural gas multinational, Exxon Mobil Corporation is looking to tap the growing demand for electric vehicles (EV) around the world. The energy giant is planning to build its own EV-charging network in the US and will start working on the project within six months, according to a person familiar with the matter who spoke with Bidness Etc. Exxon Mobil decided to enter the EV market as it expects that total plug-in and hybrid EV sales will comprise 40% of total auto sales, as per the company’s report, “The Outlook for Energy: A View to 2040.” The world’s largest energy giant has been aiding electric-charging stations; in the past, Exxon Mobil transferred the assets of its Swiss fuel-supply business, Esso Schweiz, to the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR), which opened EV-charging stations in Switzerland. Considering a strong EV outlook, Exxon Mobile launched its small, all-electric, five-door hatchback (dubbed “Maya 300”) in early 2008, in partnership with electric-battery supplier Electrovaya. The EV had a drive range of 60-120 miles and a top speed of 30 mph. With such major players jumping on the EV bandwagon, it seems that electric cars will rise to fame in the mass market sooner than expected. This is a great sign for Tesla Motors Inc (NASDAQ:TSLA), as visionary CEO Elon Musk is already planning to conquer the mass market with the Model 3 by 2017. Currently, there are more than 150 Tesla Superchargers in America, and according to Clean Technica reports, Tesla’s North American charging points outnumber those of rival CHAdeMO. Recently, Volkswagen announced to invest $10 million to support EV-charging networks in the US by 2016, while last month, German luxury automaker BMW announced it will make 100 DC fast chargers in the US. With all these EV-charging initiatives, it’s clear that the electric car is the future of the auto industry.
