Most modern commutators are molded; basically a big piece of plastic
with the copper bars molded into it. These are relatively weak
(especially when it is hot), so high RPM can be a problem.
As was posted, I won't be around forever, and someone will hopefully take up
the reins of EVnews searches when I can no longer or have passed.
Until then, I request some lucky person step up to help me on one aspect of
EVnews: racing.
