[EVDL] CALB bolt terminals getting hot -

I am using 38x130 ah CALBs in my Lectric Leopard and have had a too hot (> 40C) warning on my BMS come on a few times in the last month or so. Today, after a longer stretch of accelerating uphill to home, I checked some of the battery posts. Measuring with a laser sensor, several of them were aro

I have on my to-do list to clean up the connections. With the BMS modules on there it's just a pain and I have to be very careful (I know - if I had done it at the beginning ...). I noticed the temperature first while driving from the BMS (Lithimate Lite) telling me one cell was getting over 40C.

Nice summary. I would say you're a little optimistic on total weight for an e-bike, I use a hub motor with a light 15ah 48v battery, and I'm easily 30 lbs over a standard, maybe just a quibble. The regen % however is a bit less realistic. I ride my e-bike up/down hills, and don't get more than 5

In 2012 when I bought our iMiev, it was over $8k less than the Leaf (just before the S version came out), so that was a big difference for me. Once the S Leaf was introduced, it was closer in price, but was stripped of some items the iMiev had (better regen, quick charge) that the iMiev still seem

Tom ... there is no Wh or Ah meter standard, but many have done measurements using a "Canion" plug and application and posted on the myimiev.com forum. A quick google search like "consumption speed site:myimiev.com" results in some good threads about it (like this one: http://myimiev.com/forum/vie

Reviving this thread as we're having another very cold stretch here in the Eastern US. My batteries (SE130 CALBs) are still going, but boy do they sag when it's cold like this. It's annoying. I've been charging when my BMS sensors (atop each cell) are over 0C, which they have generally remained

Our iMiev has served us really well, and is much easier to get in and out of than a Leaf, which is probably a consideration for older people. Some people can't get past the looks, but once you get in and drive it, you appreciate the spartan (easy) interface, visibility (as compared to the Leaf), s
