I have been having a particular problem with all recent builds of
evolution. The problem is that when I go to start up evolution, I get a
message saying the it cannot find database components. I then have to do
a killev and ps -ax | grep oaf and kill all oaf processes. Evolution
will then start

This may be a bug I've been seeing. By slower, what do you mean? I'm
seeing behaviour where sometimes a click of the mouse wheel scrolls by
a message, and sometimes it will only scroll if I move the wheel fast
enough. If I scroll the wheel

hi
i'm using solaris8 on i386 with the gnome-1.4 installed as a sun

in addition i've installed the necessary extras including bonobo, gal,

it does not seem to be on the gnome ftp site.

The good news is that it's started on Evo launch now.
The bad news is that it wants to run so bad, it's not killed upon exit
:-)
'killev' does make it go away, though.
Seriously, kudos to the whole Evo team, it's shaping up really nicely,
and I can't wait for the 1.0 release !

I'm not 100% certain but I'm fairly sure this is by design, so that if
you get an alarm after you've closed evo you'll still get the alarm.
Someone might have a more authoritative answer on that than I do.

Is anyone else having this problem? Seems since the RC1 snaps I have
had consistent lock ups when trying to retrieve email from 2 pop

window or cancel. Strange.

Couple thoughts on evolution:
- I would like to be able to print out the task list
- the calendar reminders do me no good at all if they are not displayed
until I'm actually looking at the calendar
- until a server back end becomes available for Evolution, I would
appreciate the ability to
The 2nd snapshot - 2001.10.31.2256 - won't even start for me. I don't
even get a splash screen. (using RH 7 snaps on Mdk 8.1)
If I start evolution-mail in 1 xterm, and evolution in another, I get a
splash screen, but nothing more. Showing processes lists many of the evo
threads - alarm-notify,
Same here. The processes all seem to be running, but once the splash
screen disappears no other window ever appears.
