 Atul,

I had a look at ur problem and researched over it.

As per me, or my understanding of the information available on the
internet, its better to open Word and use Mail merge feature.
You can read some stuff on the following:
 http://www.ozgrid.com/forum/showthread.php?t=30692

But, there could be a solution to it..If i leave mail merge feature on
 the side

While writing this email it came to my mind, why dont we bring the letter
format to Excel. See Sheet2 in the attached workbook

If the idea looks reasonable, i can create a look to go through all the
records in Sheet1 [One by one], it will paste the data in Sheet 2 and print
a letter. This was you can print all your letters at a click of a button

Let me know, if you think this is a good idea

The excel sheet is just a format, my file include other heads instead of

Basically I am looking at capturing all the field of that particular row

I had a quick look on what you want to do.

Of what I understand is, you pick up addresses from the excel sheet and
you want to use a word doc as a format.

 There could be two things:
 1) You want to print a single letter for the whole list in the excel or

 2) You want to use a letter format depending upon a criteria. Eg: if
2nd row on excel does not meet a criteria then use 2nd format of the
 letter

I hope I am able to make clear my doubt

If you can provide some clarification on the above two points, then may

 Hello Harry,

I mean i can use different macro for preparing different format of
letters. It is not necessary that macro should pick up a particular format
of letter and then print it.

Are you going built the format within the macro or you would link to
predefine letter format. I have got one macro but it does not work.
 Attached
is the macro in text file and the excel sheet which need to saved on c
 drive
so that macro picks up the data from the said path.

In a protected worksheet, a user may want to navigate only to those cells
which are unlocked. i.e., Navigation should not be allowed to those cells
which have formula (for example). Navigation should be allowed only to cells
where a user can input data.

 To do this:

To make cells unselectable, change the worksheet's EnableSelection
property. Select *View, Toolbars, Control Toolbox* to display the Control
Toolbox toolbar. Click the Properties button to display the Properties box
for the worksheet, then click the cell labeled xlNoRestrictions and use
the drop-down list to change the EnableSelection property to *
xlUnlockedCells.* Close the Properties box. As long as the worksheet is
protected, users cannot select the locked cells on the worksheet.

Be sure to close the *Control Toolbox *toolbar once u are done.

 Hello Dave,

 Thanks for the below formulas.

The reason I am asking for the macro is that we have more then 25 sheet in
a file and more then 200 line items in each sheet, macro would help to
reduce the file size and minimize the changes of error.

I have attached a file in which i have tried to write a macro. Two things
that i am unable to add. 1 )The macro should able to apply the formula till
 the last line
 2) It should copy and paste special value all the formula applied.

Thanking you once again in advance.

Just as a by-the-way, those formulas are much longer than needed. There
are lots of redundant parts. The following would do the same thing:

A multiple IF statement stops when it finds the first true statement, so
you don't need to define the lower level of each range.
Also, this sort of thing is done better using a table with VLOOKUP. You
can change the values more easily, and the formulas are much simpler.
As to a macro, if no one else answers, I could provide you with that.

$$Excel-Macros$$ Help on Macro-Atul

2009-05-25 Thread Atul Kesaria
Hello Guys,

Need a help on writing macro. I am preparing a sheet which has three
coloumn.
The first coloumn would have number ranging from 1 to 3. The Second coloumn
would have certain number varying from 0 to 6( inclusive of demical to 2
digit). What I need in third coloumn is a formula which is based on value in
coloumn first. For eg. If coloumn first has 1 then formula would be
=IF(AND(B20,B2=1,0),1%,IF(AND(ROUND(b2=1.1,0),ROUND(b2=2,0)),3%,IF(AND(ROUND(b2=2.1,0),ROUND(b2=3,0)),5%,IF(AND(ROUND(b2=3.1,0),ROUND(b2=4,0)),7.5%,IF(AND(ROUND(b2=4.1,0),ROUND(b2=5,0)),8%,IF(AND(ROUND(b2=5.1,0),ROUND(b2=6,0)),10%,0))

If coloumn first has 2 then formula would be
=IF(AND(b20,b2=1,0),11%,IF(AND(ROUND(b2=1.1,0),ROUND(b2=2,0)),13%,IF(AND(ROUND(b2=2.1,0),ROUND(b2=3,0)),15%,IF(AND(ROUND(b2=3.1,0),ROUND(b2=4,0)),17.5%,IF(AND(ROUND(b2=4.1,0),ROUND(b2=5,0)),18%,IF(AND(ROUND(b2=5.1,0),ROUND(b2=6,0)),20%,0))

If coloumn first has 3 then formula would be
=IF(AND(b20,b2=1,0),21%,IF(AND(ROUND(b2=1.1,0),ROUND(b2=2,0)),23%,IF(AND(ROUND(b2=2.1,0),ROUND(b2=3,0)),25%,IF(AND(ROUND(b2=3.1,0),ROUND(b2=4,0)),27.5%,IF(AND(ROUND(b2=4.1,0),ROUND(b2=5,0)),28%,IF(AND(ROUND(b2=5.1,0),ROUND(b2=6,0)),20%,0))

The number of rows are not fixed and hence the macro should be able to run

It would be great if some one can provide me with a macro for the same.
