I believe you need to delete the propery with .delete(propertie). But
I'm not sure that it should be delete, remove or something else...

did the trick.
The export-import was a good idea for a workaround had this not been

~DEL can be used to remove data from specific fields in the user
properties. It certainly works for the directory import approach/
