I think your MBR is corupt are you using multiple disks ?
are you dualboting ? if yes the first try to repair with a dos diskette
fdisk command
fdisk /mbr
the try reinstalling lilo
if you have more then 1 disks try removing all except one with mandrake on
it ..

Mandrake 8.0. I have configure Lilo in the MBR to dual boot with Win2k the
default. Can I install Mandrake 8 straight over Mandrake 7.2?

Ive had libsafe-1.3 installed on my system for a long time. Everything has

I am receiving the same error, The smb.conf file that I originally had
when running 7.2 had no problems, but now, in 8.0, I see nothing but
problems...
I had to scrap that file, and create a new one with a few extra options,
and I still get that error when attempting to connect with Win98,
I should also note that if I execute konqueror from a console, it works
just fine.
In the menu configuration, what is run via the konqueror menu item is
kfmclient openProfile webbrowser. I assume that kfmclient is something that
chains to konqueror as appropriate, but I don't know why it
