You probably need to give us a little more information. Like what type of network card is this that you are having problems with? Is this an external cable modem or one that is internal and needs its own driver (this is very uncommon). And for sound, what type of sound card is it? It is fairly

Actually, if I remember correctly, the source binary goes in /usr/src/RPM/SOURCES, the spec file then uncompresses this into either /tmp or /var/tmp as well as /usr/src/RPM/BUILD (maybe only one really gets created). Then it builds the package in that temp directory, installs it to a mini-tree,

There is a known issue with the Matrox G450 and Xfree86 4.0.2 (and 4.0.1 I believe) where it activates the second header when going into X. This means that it outputs your display on port 2 instead of port 1. The only fix for this I have heard so far is to install the binary files from the

Perhaps you could remove the pam.d passwd requirement to use cracklib. I would suggest you make a copy first of passwd entry in the pam.d folder, then make your change, then try to set the password to some insecure. After you finish setting the passwords put the cracklib back in place, then

I don't know if anyone else has had this problem but I couldn't get the screen savers to unlock with this version of the KDE 2.1 RPMs. So I went into my KDE 2.1 Beta 1 source tree and recompiled kcheckpass with PAM support. Installed this version of kcheckpass and things appear to be working.

Apparently, according to the message on the kde.org ftp site, Mandrake has decided not to package 2.0.1 instead suggesting that people use the Alpha packages for 2.1 instead. I personally feel this is a really big mistake on their part, as general users who have purchased the Mandrake product
