Praedor,
You might try taking out the sound card, and seeing if you can resolve the
problems. I'm still thinking the power supply is a possible culprit.
Which bios have you flashed to?

If you only had a generic 250w PS, I'll bet that's it. I've had post problems
on two boxes, on several boards, and that was the problem. It's preety common
when you try to upgrade a board AND cpu with an older box. But if you are
still having problems with a 350w, you should check the actual

Praedor,
Is the bios set to auto detect? Another thought is you might have a weaker
power supply than is needed- I ran into that a few times with new cpus. I
don't think the kernel would cause your problem- it has to be a hardware
configuration/bios setting. What bios did you say you flashed

Praedor,
The kt3 ultra with via kt333 chipset should do 133Mhz FSB (266) with no
problem. What is your cpu voltage set at? Also, like I mentioned, your power
supply might be marginal- especially on the 3v and 5v lines. John's point on
another older card causing this is valid too, but then your

Duron 1100. The switch went fine except my [EMAIL PROTECTED] mobo
apparently doesn't support anything greater than an
XP1500+. It is an MSI KT333 ultra and the manual says
it can do a 200MHz FSB, etc, which would support the
chip but...in any
Maybe:
Your kernel is using modules for the 'old' mobo and cpu. While booting,
auto-hardware-detect changes the settings for another mobo, but it's not
installed so the modules are not found.
If that's more or less right, you can try to recompile your kernel ?

Praedor,
H.. I thought with a bios upgrade you could run faster cpus on the kt333
Ultra. The 5.7 bios for the Ultra 2, which I have one of supposedly supports
XP 3000+. Yours is just the plain Ultra, correct? If so, I just looked at
this page, and looks like you are in good shape for much
