The GNOME foot menu is now a mess. Helixcode has created a bunch of
duplicate and mostly redundant menus.

Simon,
please use the command update-menus -v from a Virtual terminal as both your
user and also as root. boot into x and see if your problem is resolved.
Check and be sure that rpms for helixcode
