It looks like fail2ban still crashes on FreeBSD. I built a brand new server and used default config for freebsd. Added some rules into my own filter and it was running fine. Then it just stops. I check the log file - 2016-02-21 09:47:01,755 fail2ban.actions[705]: NOTICE [sendmail] Ban

You could do a few while loops to log these into a file. cat /var/log/maillog | grep "Junk" | cut -d ">" -f1 | cut -d "<" -f2 | while read rubbish ; do grep $rubbish /var/log/maillog ; done | grep postfix | cut -d ":" -f4 | while read messageid ; do grep $messageid /var/log/maillog ; done |

Hi everyone, I was wondering if there is a way to pass fail2ban a file listing all hosts that I would like to be whitelisted? Possibly 1 host per line? Thanks, Rich -- Dive into the World of Parallel Programming The Go

[Fail2ban-users] FW: Fail2ban on freebsd10

2014-12-05 Thread Richard Mealing
Hi users, I'm trying to run fail2ban on freebsd10 but it keeps stopping. I am using ipfw tables (table 1) and I am just using sendmail-reject as a jail. I've also tried my own rules. It works for about a minute, then it stops. I wondered if anyone had any clues to what I might be doing wrong.
