According to Patañjali, the following are the prerequisites
for samaadhi (in the case of those not videhas and/or[?]

shraddhaa -- faith
viirya -- indomitable energy or will
smRti -- memory
samaadhi-prajñaa -- intelligence or 'high knowledge' or
keen intellect essential for samaadhi
(vocabulary based on Taimni's Science of Yoga)
According to YS II 38 gaining 'viirya' depends(?) on
brahma-carya (brahma-charya):
brahmacarya-pratiSThaayaaM viirya-laabhaH.
Does that mean without brahmacarya samaadhi shall be
at least essentially weaker than with being established
in sexual continence (Taimni)?

Gita appendix/Yoga Samadhi is the goal, and once the goal of Samadhi is
reached all the 'tools' used to achieve that goal are no longer necessary.
Virya or Celibacy is one of the *soldiers* mentioned in the Bhagavad Gita, his
name is Uttamaujas, (CH1vs6) or vital celibacy from uttama/chief, principle and
ojas/bodily strength.
Patanjali devised eight *means* to YOGA, each limb (anga) is designed to bring
about the state of Yoga (Union) in the sphere of life to which it relates.

suggested only TM meditation was necessary.)
