Though there and sometimes shrouded by fog it doesn't quite stick out 
like the Transamerica Building does.  In 1973 a friend and I traveled to 
the top of that building.  As I recall we either just parked on the 
street or in their garage.  Then we drove up to Sausalito to visit a 
friend there.  Wow and so little traffic to deal with and bridge tolls 
were probably 25 cents.  Certainly not that way now.


At least we're finally getting some rain today and my doors will work 
better.

I would think such a prominent structure would stick in my mind as an 
iconic image of SF, but the Golden Gate Bridge is the only thing 
recorded upstairs. It weirds me out that in 52 years, today is the 
first time I can recall ever seeing a picture of that tower.

I'm interested in radio and electronics, and I've driven to the Bay Area (back 
in 1983), but I have no recollection of ever seeing that weird tower at the
