[FairfieldLife] RE: Please quote!

Thanks, auth!

I suspect that not everyone actually looks at their own posts after they have
appeared on the website, so some of those who don't click on the dots before
they hit send may be unaware that their comments are appearing in a complete
vacuum.

Yup, you're right. Jeez, talk about unintuitive! The three dots aren't just so
you know what the other guy said when you're replying, they're so it'll show up
in your post and the folks who read it will know as well.

A person very well might not click the three dots, simply because they don't
need to review what the other guy said. But everybody should do that whether
they need to or not, so other people can see what they're responding to.

Good work, Feste. I'd never have guessed.

(I did click the three dots on this one.)

So let this be a test. I haven't clicked on the three dots; let's see what
shows up when it's posted.

That wasn't what I meant. If I don't click on those three dots at the bottom of
the reply box, when my post shows up on the website, there is nothing there
except what I have written -- no indication of what I am replying to. But If I
click on those dots before sending, the post when it shows up will show "show
message history," below my message, and if someone clicks on that, it shows
what I am replying to. If there is a better way, let me know. People seem to be
approaching this in different ways (or not at all), and it may be different
according to what browser you use. I don't know. Neo certainly gives little
help about it.

There's nothing quoted at all. Many of your posts are like that as well (not
the one I'm responding to, though). Also DoctorDumbass's.

Right. Before you send the message, click on the three dots at the bottom left
of the reply box, and that will show the message you're replying to.
